You may be eligible for significant savings when upgrading your heating and cooling system. Through federally funded Michigan programs like HOMES and HEAR, homeowners can qualify for rebates that help reduce the upfront cost of high-efficiency equipment and whole-home upgrades.
These programs are designed to make your home more comfortable, energy-efficient, and affordable—often saving hundreds to thousands of dollars depending on the system and availability.
Funding is limited and programs can change, so it’s best to take advantage while incentives are available. Our team will walk you through your options and help you maximize every rebate you qualify for.

The MiHER program will fund approximately 15,000 Michigan homes to help reduce energy and utility costs and help improve comfort and air quality. To be eligible, the program will look at the following: Household income, estimated energy-efficient upgrades, estimated savings, rebate limits, upgrades installed, and total project cost.
To apply for the rebate program, start by clicking the link above to submit your application. You'll then select your MiHER approved contractor (Great Lakes Heating & Cooling, of course), and then we will schedule an energy assessment for your home. Installation will begin, followed by an after-work inspection, and then the rebate will be processed.
Absolutely! Many customers use financing alongside available Michigan rebates to reduce upfront costs and keep monthly payments low.
Rebate levels will be determined by household income level and necessary upgrades determined by the home assessment. For the HEAR program, rebates may not exceed $14,000 per household and for the HOMES program, rebates may not exceed $20,000 per household.
